Quantity Surveyor Rail DoncasterMW1-6082Our client are a national rail civil engineering contractor, with projects throughout the UK on the national railnetwork.As a result of a continued expansion in their operations, they are now looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor tojoin their team, based in Doncaster.The successful candidate will work on high output track renewals and ballast cleaning plant maintenance. This maintenanceproject currently has 2 years to run and is worth in excess of GBP 30m.The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Surveyor and will have a Commercial Assistant under them tohelp with the administrative side of their work.Principal Accountabilities1. Provide information measuring the financial and physical performance of projects against targets.2. Provide relevant information in preparation of reports for Directors within agreed timescales.3. Prepare/assist in the preparation of Estimates.4. Submit regular reports which indicate the commercial position of the Divisions contracts, highlighting areas ofconcern or risk and the position of outstanding claims.5. Provide information to ensure the submission of Interim and Final Accounts to ensure timely payment for servicesrendered.6. Examine current working Practices/Procedures and recommend improvements in line with best Engineering contracting.7. Other duties as required from time-to-time by the Managing Surveyor/Commercial Manager and/or Renewals Engineer.QualificationsQualified to H.N.D. or equivalent, a minimum of 2 years experience in a commercial environment and possessing a goodknowledge of contractual/construction law.
