: The Reagent group's functions include the purification of antibodies and enzymes and manufacture of labelled antibodies for use in immunodiagnostic tests. Equally, the group is also responsible for the testing and approval of all the biological Raw Materials used. Techniques used include analytical and preparative scale chromatography including HPLC, electrophoresis (PAGE and IEF), Western blotting and immunoassay. As a manufacturer of in-vitro diagnostic devices, Axis-Shield must comply implicitly with the current regulations describing Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). This is a technically advanced and demanding post but personal attributes are as important as academic achievement. Applicants should be: educated to degree level in science subjects, preferably biology or chemistry. have good practical skills show good attention to detail and have a neat and orderly approach to work have a strong sense of responsibility have a flexible and proacti! ve approach to working to schedules and meeting targets Previous experience in any of the techniques outlined above may be an advantage but full training will be given in every case. |
