It is the foremost authority on tin andis responsible for major new developments in, for example, lead-free soldering, tin pigments, tinplate and tinsustainability.In line with a renewed need to innovate and to grow its research portfolio, the Technology Information & Forecasting(TIF) group is creating a position for an enthusiastic and creative person to drive the new projects process through allits stages from technology scouting to active collaboration.Reporting to the TIF Manager, this role will require a strong scientific background and at least 5 years experience indevelopment of metallurgy materials technologies. At the same time understanding of market research and new projectsprocesses and an ability to engage with key players in the market are important.Skills in internet-based information sourcing, concise technical writing and rapid information delivery are alsopreferable. Experience in collaborative research project management is desirable, but not essential. Some internationaltravel will also be involved.A starting salary of GBP 28,000 p.a. is offered, but is negotiable depending upon experience, together with a benefitpackage which includes, private health medical scheme membership, pension scheme membership, flexi-time working and abonus scheme. |
