All applicants will need to satisfy the requirements for UK security clearance and must be willing to provide evidence ofeligibility to work in the UK if requested.Profile:The individual will have:- Post-graduate experience or interest in payload systemengineering- A methodical approach to work, with sufficient commitmentand drive complete tasks, even where adverse conditions areencountered- Strong analytical skills- The ability efficiently to organise and co-ordinate theirwork.- Knowledge and interest in telecommunications field.- Willingness and ability to learn on-the-job- Willingness to travel overseas for short periods on companybusinessSpecific Tasks to be Undertaken:One or more of the following:- Participation in communication payloadprojects/proposals/studies- Identify payload architecture requirements- Payload RF system performance analysis- Requirements analysis- Equipment specification development- Validation and test strategy development and specificationExperience required:Work:Mandatory: Required to assist with RF Systems engineeringand modelling tasks on an existing Payload. This willencompass end to end link budget analysis of thecommunication system, payload signal analysis, includingeffects of multi-carrier signals, access systems (TDMA, FDMA,MF-TDMA, CDMA, W-CDMA), RF/Microwave analysis andsystem capacity analysis.Desirable: Knowledge of the equipment design and/or testaspects of payload equipment e.g. HPA s, LNA s and DSPdesign technique; Communication System design andImplementation; Digital and Analogue Communications;Payload System Design, Analysis and Implementation.Proven programming ability using a high level codinglanguage (Fortran or PV Wave or similar product) for systemmodelling and system design evaluation is expected.Tools/EquipmentMandatory: PC literate, MS Office Suite emphasis on Wordand Excel.Desirable: Visual basic, DOORS, PV Wave, Fortran 90 andAgilent ADSQualifications:Essential: The applicant is expected to have a good honoursdegree in engineering/electronics/science/mathematics, butother qualifications and applicable experience will also beconsidered.Desirable: Higher Degree in Electronics orTelecommunications FieldsPrevious ExperienceEssential: Practical Knowledge of Satellite CommunicationSystems Engineering in a spaceborne environmentDesirable: Communication Systems Engineeringimplementation, development of simulation tools andtechniques the subsequent analysis of systems performancecharacteristics of a comms end to end system.Personal QualitiesThe applicant will be a team player, well organised,communicative and determined to succeed, with the ability towork on their own initiative. |
