Hertfordshire based major Defence Electronics company part of a FTSE 100 organisation requires high profile salesprofessionals.General Scope and ResponsibilitiesSales and marketing of large volume vapour detectors and associated products within the UK and Worldwide DefenceElectronics organisations in accordance with the market plan for each product. These sales will be large, complex,multi-year supply, often requiring long term development.Main DutiesMeet sales targets set according to budgets and forecastsUnderstand customers organisational structure in order to define and meet product requirements. Set up and maintaindetails of all sales opportunities to produce and review capture plans for each opportunity. Provide regular feedback onissues that may affect the likelihood of success.Establish and maintain good key customer relationships.Observe and feedback information on competitors products and services.Manage the companys agents and distributors in the territory. Establish good working relationships with the agentsthrough provision of support and collaboration. This role may eventually be located within a regional office.Produce, maintain and communicate short-term order forecasts and long-term business predictions for eachproject/customer. Continually monitor progress of order from initial enquiry to receipt of order ensuring deliverypromises are kept and that the company enjoys the maximum margin for each sale.Represent the company at exhibitionsPlan, organise and be involved in the preparations for company exhibitions.Give presentations as required for customers and visitorsAssist in the arrangements for customers visiting the companys siteAssist in the production of bids and proposals to ensure that they meet customer requirements.Provide information relative to customers requirements to Product and Programme Managers, helping them to defineprojects and modify products as requiredAssist the sales administration team to maintain the highest standard of customer supportExperience and QualificationsProven Experience in selling within a disciplined sales environment.Experience within the defence and in particular Defence Electronics with working knowledge of the UK and WorldwidemarketsAbility to operate alone in a variety of international markets, readiness to ask for assistance and specialist advicewhen the situation demands.Must be a natural team player, willing and able to build confidence and establish co-operative relationships withpersonnel throughout the company.Preference for experience of or exposure to NBC equipmentDegree or HNC qualified, marketing, engineering or similar |
