: My client is one of, if not the premier retailer on the high street today. Historically, they are one of the most successful retailers and very much seen as one of the best employers not only in retail, but across any industry. They are currently recruiting for a position within the womenswear merchandising department. This role is an Assistant Merchandiser working alongside the rest of the buying and merchandising teams to ensure delivery of a product offer that exceeds customers expectations and achieves sales and profit targets through effective supply chain management. The role will involve the following: Assist in the preparation of budgets, sales and profit targets Monitor performance against plan, taking appropriate action to maximise sales and profit, reduce stockholding and increase stockturn Identify new business opportunities to grow sales and profitability Deliver cost effective supply solutions and achieve maximum full price sales and planned margin Review, propose and implement mark-down activity to reduce terminal stock whilst analysing action taken on mark-downs to maximise profit Drive increase in margin through new sourcing strategies and methods to build profit Communicate trading issues and forecasts with proposed actions to senior management and Buyer A role with this company represents an opportunity to work for a respected high-street retailer that can offer unrivalled training and support as well as the opportunity for rapid progression due to the changes they are currently undergoing.
