The Senior Civils Engineer will undertake and manage design activities associated with the use of civils infrastructurewithin the project, carrying out the following activities:* Carry out civils design associated with communications schemes, new and upgrades* Liaise with other partners on the impact of such schemes* Provide advice on all civils issues* Provide costing assistance in the preparation of communication scheme activities* Liaise with the scheme designers to ensure all civils aspects are adequately addressed* Provide support for Traffic Management and Road Space booking activities as required* Management of the environmental team* Provide line management for civils design resources as the team grows.* Support the Project Manager in delivering work packages identified in Section 3.2 aboveThe Senior Civils Engineer will have the following skills/capabilities:Essential:* Chartered engineer with 5 to 10 years experience, including major highway (motorway/trunk road) design experience.* Experience in scheme preparation, orders, appraisals, assessment and studies* A thorough knowledge of design standards and contract documentation.Desirable:* MX capability and experience in CAD, MS Project and Microdrain |
