: Senior Construction Planner My client is a leading construction and property development organisation. Founded over 40 years ago, they work primarily in the public sector and have risen to the status of a main competitor in the provision of affordable housing and estate regeneration. This is combined with work within both the health and education sectors, where they have a number of new build and refurbishment contracts. They have an enviable record of repeat business from both clients and consultants, a result of their experience, skill, quality work and excellent customer service. The company has been increasing rapidly over the past few years, and now has a turnover in excess of GBP 140mn. Their order book for next year is already in excess of GBP 100mn, again an indication of their continual strategic growth. At present the company does not have a planning department; Project Managers generally are responsible for planning. However, the company now is working on schemes ranging between 30 units and 400 units, and their projects now vary from GBP 50,000 (Special Works Division, another part of their added value service) to GBP 15mn. Due to this, they wish to start a planning function. In order to do this they are looking to recruit an experienced construction planner to set up the department. You will be based at the company's head office in North London/Hertfordshire - near Enfield. In order to reply you will meet the following criteria: -You must have a minimum of 5 years construction planning experience in the UK -You must be proficient in the use of PowerProject planning software or Primavera P3 planning software, and have extensive experience of using it in a commercial environment -You must have experience of working on projects worth over GBP 10mn -Preference will be given to candidates who have worked on housing or PFI projects previously -You must have management capabilities, this is a senior role and you will be responsible for setting up a function. This means that in addition to technical attributes and relevant background, you must also have strong interpersonal skills to fulfil this role.
