Senior Design EngineerJob Description:Design of engine systems and components from concept through verification to productionTranslate customer requirements and objectives into effective technical objectives in close liaison with the verificationfunction (both predictive and experimental techniques) and the supply baseDeliver models, detailing drawings, IPLs, product compatibility assessments in support of the aboveOwnership of the Design elements of APQP and ability to deliver these in conjunction with the upplier & PurchasingAbility to manage consultancies, contractors and worldwide design servicesParticular emphasis on contracts, design briefs, communication & project mgtAttributes:Ability to work in a multi functional team and large organizationsEnthusiasm, initiative and willingness to learn and keep abreast of new technologiesBreadth of engineering visionEffective communicator at all levelsAbility to manage multiple tasks whilst retaining focus on the issue of key importanceInterest and enthusiasm for the engineering and manufacturing inductries, with a sound understanding of the keyfunctional areas, particularly: purchasing, manufacturing, product managementKnowledge & Skills:Degree qualified in mechanical engineering or related discipline, with a minimum of 10 years relevant experienceExpert ProE user: model creation & control, releasing processesSound base engine engineering experience, with significant experience in many of the following core competencies:Core principles: fluid mechanics, heat transfer, dynamics, statics, materialsEngine principles: lubrication, cooling, sealing, in cylinder, vibration & fatigueEngineering processes: supplier and manufacturing processesReliability: ability to develop components or systems to validate reliability and durability of technical objectivesRelated functional awareness: NVH, CAE, performance, emissions & calibration, customer applicationsTools: 6 Sigma, FMEA, 8D |
