Contract Senior Design EngineerA leading Worldwide Manufacturer of automotive applications for the Defence market. They require a Contract SeniorDesigner who will be part of a large team responsible for identifying and developing projects and activities.Ideally an engineering degree or HND/HNC, but experience more significant.A minimum of 5 years of experience within mechanical design.Must be able to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge ofengines or transmissions.Must have excellent computer and communication skills, along with experience of 3D Pro/E, Wildfire advantageous.The PersonWill be expected to manage their own design work as well as assisting team projects.Identifying critical problems, attending design reviews and project reviews as required.Liaising closely with suppliers and customers to achieve high quality, cost effective product.Initiating ideas and performing needs analysis.Communicating technical information to customers, team members, suppliers and other business units.The ideal applicant must possess the following skills:Sound knowledge of diesel engine and transmission operation and performance.Engineering degree OR HND with experience and excellent analytical skills.Good team working skills.Self-motivated and energetic with good communication skills and to be prepared to present to and have discussions withcustomers and suppliers.Ability to deliver work to clearly defined plans within tight timescales.Flexibility to handle multiple priorities and prepared to accept responsibility for area of experience and expertise. |
