CLIENT DESCRIPTION:The client has been established for over 18 years, initially as a developer of 3D simulation software and services andmoved into the interactive training sphere in 1991. Now over 80% of their turnover is in e-Learning and with their staffof 45 people they are at the forefront providing innovative interactive training solutions.ROLE.As the Senior Instructional Designer the candidate will co-ordinate and supervise the work of an existing instructionaldesign team. And as a member of the team, you will work with client-side subject matter experts to design and createe-learning solutions. You will help create instructional creative strategies, design and author course content, and workclosely with project managers, Web designers and Web producers.CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:The candidate is likely to have a degree in multimedia, psychology or communications, with an additional 5+ years in aCBT/e-learning company. You should also have experience of developing e-learning content and ensuring the quality oftraining materials. Candidates must come from a training background with a good grasp of technology and the design ofe-learning training materials. The candidate must have client-facing experience, good writing skills and a real passionfor e-learning.Essential Requirements Graduate with background in e-learning or training A minimum of 5 years experience as an Instructional designer in e-learning company or in-house e-learning teamSpecialist requirements A minimum of 2 years experience as a Senior Instructional designer or Lead Designer. Good Training Needs Analysis skills Knowledgeable about learning theory and practice An excellent understanding of training design for multimedia / web Proven experience of developing e-learning content to meet specified budgets and timescales Excellent oral and written communication skills Mature client-facing skills A natural team player with the ability to communicate within a multidisciplinary team including programmers, designersand project managersWould also be an advantage Project management experience Creative thinker Knowledge of Human-computer interaction or interaction design Good presentation skills, for giving seminars or stand-up trainingTechnical skills Windows 95/98 Competent using Microsoft Office programmes: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio Familiar with multimedia/web programmes and technologies Good keyboard and typing skillsPersonal Skills Personable Self motivated, and can take initiative Ability to work in a team and as an individual Organised, methodical, meticulous Passionate about e-learningIn line with the requirements of the Asylum & Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work inthe UK or EU.
