This Berkshire based Client is a world leader and centre of excellence in technical developments related to the gem diamond industry. Established for over 20 years the R&D group is responsible for developing leading edge automated sorting machines and research of synthetic detection instruments that can even distinguish natural diamonds from synthetic or treated gems.The successful candidate will be a key contributor as part of a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for developing image processing algorithms and software using pattern matching and colour/shape classification techniques.Skills required:- Excellent communication, self motivated, able to innovate - Mathematical/Statistical or related Engineering degree - 5+yrs experience developing and implementing image processing algorithms - Tools such as LabView, Matlab, WiT or equivalent - Use of programming languages e.g. C/C++/C# for Windows/Linux - Any knowledge of machine vision detectors e.g. CCD/CMOS sensors will be advantageous
