Our client is a large paper mill based in Kent. They require a Senior Engineer, responsible for the coated mill area, to ensure a cost effective, reliability centred maintenance strategy is maintained to give maximum production throughout the paper mill.Candidates with experience gained managing a maintenance team, from the paper industry or similar heavy process environments will be considered.Responsibilities will include:Manage area budget comprising of all electrical and mechanical maintenance. Manage the mill supervisors, reliability engineer, technicians and contractors to ensure that all work carried out is to the highest standard. Responsible person for any engineering interruption to the production process. Improve the cost effectiveness of maintenance. Ensure health and safety policy and action plans are adhered to. Identify with the Production managers improvements required to increase uptime of the paper machine, utilising the revenue budget whilst remaining under the maintenance budget threshold. Manage the annual preventative maintenance programme. Provide - on call' cover one week in four (more frequently during holidays and sickness). Conduct team briefings and attend/organise meetings when requested. Ensure there is adequate supervision and call in cover during holidays and periods of sickness. To accept additional education and training as is necessary to continue satisfactorily carrying out the job as a result of new equipment and changes in technology.
