: This Engineering Consultancy is one of the industrys leading Electrical Contractors with work throughout the UK and Ireland. They specialise in the fields of generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. They now require a Senior Estimating Engineer to join their Proposals Department, who has a broad based knowledge of High Voltage Substations in the UK DNO market and associated markets including Wind Farms/ Renewable Energy Schemes, together with a knowledge of the requirements and available sources of the key Main Plant Items comprising HV Switchgear, Instrument Transformers, Power Transformers and Protection Schemes. Your role, working with the Proposals Manager and departmental support staff will be to prepare competitive tenders for clients. You will be required to analyse the incoming clients specification and to outline a plant enquiry specification as well as building a standard estimating package to format a project cost build-up. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will be required to build a project outline programme and prepare a fully detailed Technical Comments document for submission with the tender. You will have experience of discussing with and agreeing suitable cost saving schemes in both the Electrical and Civil construction of substations which meet the clients requirements in an innovative manner. Qualified to HNC/degree level you should have the ability to motivate, encourage and suggest such schemes to the engineering department and equally be able to assess schemes suggested by the engineering department. An understanding of Electrical and Civil Engineering as well as design would be an advantage. |
