HVAC Engineers and Designers.We require a Senior HVAC and Mechanical Building Services Engineer to work in the Piping and Mechanical EngineeringDepartment, reporting via the Principal HVAC Engineer to the Department Head. The successful candidate will be capable ofconcept design through to commissioning of industrial ventilation systems. Nuclear Ventilation Systems experience wouldbe preferred but is not essential.Skills, Knowledge and Special Attributes Needed for this Position:Degree qualified with membership of CIBSE ideally but someone with lesser qualifications and the right experience wouldbe seriously considered.Other Matters:Should possess a working knowledge of the 'hevacomp' package and be willing to work on assignment in clients remoteoffices..Responsibilities/Prepare manhour and merchant account estimates.Plan and develop work packages.Supervise a team of engineers and designers.Range and Scope of Activities:Responsibilities would include preparation of specifications, ventilation flow diagrams, heat loss/heat gaincalculations, sizing calculations, ductwork general arrangement drawings, selection of equipment, attendance at hazop andproduction of commissioning documentation as well as liaison both internally and with clients and sub-contractors.Nature of Problems and Solving them:Any problems associated with the design and installation of HVAC and Building Services Systems. Candidate must have theexpertise to resolve all such problems independently.Level of Discretion:Authority to make most functional decisions without reference to others.Impact:Lead expert in the field, directly importing the quality and standard of services offered to clients.Communication:Needs skills to communicate accurately and appropriately with clients within project team with equipment suppliers andwith peers and manager.
