RoleOur client is looking for a Senior Landscape Architect to ensure that the highest standards of landscape and urban designare achieved and to provide specialist landscape and urban design advice and to take responsibility for specificstrategic landscape projects and EIA work.The position will include the following duties: To travel to project sites carrying out or assisting with landscape survey work and the ensuing the appropriateanalysis and presentation of the survey information. To provide design advice and guidance at all stages of the design process from outline plans, to tender and workingdrawings, taking full responsibility for negotiating good landscape and urban design. This includes dealing with EIAwork, planning applications and development proposals in close association with all clients and stakeholders. Topersonally maintain and develop expert knowledge of this expertise. To help facilitate regeneration initiatives and schemes for a range of key sites with major clients. Assist in thepreparation of, or input into design briefs, master-plans, landscape and design strategies, scheme design, takingspecific responsibility for urban design and landscape related matters. To project manage and contribute landscape input to a variety of projects to enable schemes to be delivered on time andon budget. To use time and resources efficiently to accomplish targeted objectives. To undertake review of various forms of presentation material; plans, detailed drawings, reports and power-pointpresentation to ensure best standards of quality are achieved. To co-ordinate the preparation of EIA reports and fully understand the planning policy and EIA process To co-ordinatethe production of contract documentation for the contract procurement process and monitor/record and report on siteoperations. To contribute to the professional development of junior staff, including any additional training career or experiencethey would like to acquire to maximize their potential. To create and generate creative new ideas for the team. To attend and participate confidently and effectively at landscape and design team meetings. To have knowledge of all office and project. To act in accordance with the equal opportunities policy and undertake the duties as required by corporate anddirectorate action plans. The post-holder may be required to monitor expenditure on work undertaken by consultants. The post-holder is requiredto be aware of the basics skills relating to the management of project profitability and expenditure. The post-holder will work in an office and on site in rural and urban settings. The post-holder will be required to undertake visits to sites (unless there is a risk to personal safety). Thisincludes visits to urban and rural sites.Key Competencies Ability to initiate and develop landscape and urban design based projects. Design flare. Good analytical skills as applied to the assessment of existing areas and to proposed developments. Project management. Strong graphic representation skills (manual and computer). Good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Confidence and ability at negotiating and influencing others. Computer literacy including the use of AutoCAD, Artisan, Excel, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office and preferablygraphics applications. Ability to plan and organize work effectively for the team.Qualifications: 1st degree in Landscape Architecture or related subject/Diploma or post graduate qualification in LandscapeArchitecture or related subject. A member of the Landscape Institute A minimum of 3 years Part IV qualified A full current UK driving license.Personal qualities: Ability to work with different individuals, agencies and professions in a practical and constructive way andcommunicate in a sensitive and considerate manor. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team; Commitment to personal and continuing professional development; Commitment to raising the quality of the rural and built environment; Confidence in leading workshops and leading meetings etc. Capable of organizing and developing their work with a minimum of supervision.Experience* Minimum five years experience in posts involving significant landscape and urban design issues and work.Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of technical, legislative and policy framework and best practice relating to landscape and designmatters. Thorough knowledge of landscape and urban design relating to new developments, existing buildings and spaces. |
