Description:

Senior Oracle DBA Milton Keynes Senior Oracle DBA, Oracle Application Server, UNIX, SQL, Scripting, Windows, Programming experience or some UNIX/Perl scripting knowledge, time management, Team leading &/or PM skills. The team provides support for Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 (UDB) & Sybase, mainly on UNIX but also windows. Ongoing project working with oracle 9i & oracle application server. Opportunity to get involved in different businesses & technologies, & progress by taking more responsibilities for the project management of the DBA portions of projects. A lead DBA, coach & mentor, technical leadership within the team. Performing trial loads, setting up & configuring databases, & working closely with other 3rd parties & the end client to deliver the system. Day to day support of systems, monitoring, housekeeping & maintenance of the RDBMS systems. A proactive approach to prevent issues from causing problems visible to the customer. Install oracle, create oracle databases, & install backup processes for these databases: Senior Oracle DBA, Oracle Application Server, UNIX, SQL, Scripting, Windows, Programming experience or some UNIX/Perl scripting knowledge, time management, Team leading &/or PM skills. The team provides support for Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 (UDB) & Sybase, mainly on UNIX but also windows. Ongoing project working with oracle 9i & oracle application server. Opportunity to get involved in different businesses & technologies, & progress by taking more responsibilities for the project management of the DBA portions of projects. A lead DBA, coach & mentor, technical leadership within the team. Install oracle, create oracle databases, & install backup processes for these databases. Performing patches & upgrades, & using Oracle tools RMAN or data-guard for backup & recovery. Run with problem tickets & change requests, & possibly small projects. Root cause analysis, estimating and agreeing requirements and being able to create & track a small project plan. Some scheduled work out-of-hours & also participation on the on-call rota for some of the systems. Some travel may be necessary for customer meetings
