: Our client, a global food company, with a world-class portfolio of powerful brands have a vacancy for a Senior QA Technologist to work within their microbiology department. The company are based in Cumbria. Working within the microbiology laboratory, this position will provide a comprehensive service to the factory, including the day to day supervision of the microbiology team. The role involves the collection of plant and environmental samples, along with the issuing of gradings for raw materials, intermediates and finished products. The individual is also responsible for the routine management of pest control processes, the issuing of micro reports and the provision of cover for the QA Support Manager. They will also provide the necessary support requirements of ISO9001 accreditation within the factory. The ideal candidate will be educated to at least HNC/HND standard and/or have a minimum of three years relevant experience. This experience should include substantial knowledge and experience of microbiological methodologies in the food industry and team leadership skills. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate effective communication, organisational and prioritisation skills coupled with excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
