Required experience will include:Solid understanding of Communications, Modulation and RF and Microwave principles. In depth understanding of the principals of RF Measurement and good understanding of measurement uncertainty. Experience in RF design, specifically in low noise synthesiser design, phase noise, EVM, mixers, amplifier, modulators (e.g. IQ), demodulators (e.g. digital), printed component design etc typically up to 6GHz and beyond. Computer literacy, particularly with simulation and analysis tools: Excel, ADS, SystemView, MathCAD, Matlab, schematic capture tools. You will ideally offer a 1st or 2.1 Honours Degree in Electronic Engineering and/or closely related subject. This role requires a strong theoretical and practical technical background: a thorough understanding of the principals of RF Measurement, effects of noise, distortion and leakage and thorough understanding of RF measurement uncertainty. Scope includes: design of Receivers, Transmitters, Synthesisers, mixers, amplifiers, modulation, demodulation etc., typically up to 6Ghz and beyond. A good working knowledge of most other areas of technology (e.g. hardware design, software, FPGA, DSP etc) is also desirable. |
