SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEERRoleDevelopment of new software products for our products, support for and continuing improvement of existing software.Experience at a senior level working on development projects related to Marine Electronics, Medical or Accoustics (orsimilar) will be highly desirable.Key TasksCandidate must have a sound knowledge of C / C++, (and embedded/firmware) the Widows API and the Microsoft developmentenvironment and tools including version control.Candidates may be required to technically lead a small team of engineers to take software projects through fromconception to delivery. Candidates will take a leading role in providing software input to bid proposals across allfields of the organisation's operation.Experience of instrumentation would be beneficial.Experience with MS Basic would be beneficial.Familiarity with Linux and PC Hardware would also be of benefit.Experience of assembler and/or embedded 'C' could also be of interestExperience in developing with HTML, Perl, SQL, Java or PHP are likely to become of increasing interest in the mid term.Education LevelMinimum Upper 2nd Class Software Engineering DegreeExperience DesiredIdeally five years plus experience. The experience of the current software team is mainly embedded firmware and themajority of the work we do is on the firmware side at this stage, however, we anticipate software projects (Windows etc)and in this case the candidate would be required to lead these projects. |
