The Role:You will be expected to analyse and provide reporting information to enable both the Orange's Technical Department andthe wider business functions to understand the capacity impacts of proposed changes to key business drivers. It's areally communication role as well so you must be happy delivering your analysis results in formats suitable to inform thebusiness's strategic, financial and operational planning teams. Key business drivers include the business/technicalproject stack, expected levels of service usage and service quality levels.The areas that you'll be involved with are looking at capacity requirements resulting from agreed changes to key businessdrivers. You'll be working with delivery teams to ensure that sufficient technical infrastructure capacity is designed,planned and delivered to meet the needs of the business, whilst achieving the right balance between costs, risks andbusiness benefits.You'll be developing and maintaining the capacity models, tools and processes required achieving the above and providingthe required technical expertise to manage and resolve capacity issues and risks affecting their assignedservices/systems.Must Haves:To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following :2 - 5 years relevant experience working with large, complex IT or Telecom systems. Experience ideally gained within an ITconsultancy, vendor, and service provider or within the IT function of a large organisation.Excellent analytical and numerical skills. Graduate in a relevant numerate discipline. Ability to analyse large volumesof data, identify relationships/trends, and present and explain complex data in an effective manner.Really strong problem solving skills. Ability to analyse the key components of a problem, and identify the mostappropriate solution. Evidence of logical reasoning and a structured approach to problem solving.Nice to Haves:It would also be great if you could offer Orange any of the following skills:Excellent data manipulation and analysis skills using tools such as Visual Basic, Access and Excel. Development andmaintenance of analytical and mathematical models of Oranges services / systems.Conversant with capacity planning techniques for systems infrastructure, middleware, applications and end-to-endservices. Familiar with performance management and modelling tools (e.g. HP Open View Performance).Experience of working with business and technical teams to understand their business strategy, plans, projects andprocesses and the associated impacts on services and systems.Experience of Intelligent Networks needed to support customer products and services, Service Broker technologies, systemsneeded to support messaging and multimedia service solutions as well as Content Management solutions. Understanding ofErlang theory desirable.The Department:The Forecasting & Capacity Planning department forms part of Orange UK's wider Service Management function, within theTechnical Operations directorate.The Forecasting & Capacity Planning department's responsibilities fall into three main technology areas: GSM/UMTSnetworks, Customer Products & Services and Orange UK's Business Systems.
