Typical technical activities include: Project and Contract management activities, including project planning, chairing progress/contract meetings,programming, work planning and project team management Internal Project Status reporting on progress, financial and resource issues Client/stakeholder consultation to determine the scope of requirements Undertaking risk assessment activities Analysis of requirements and determining how these can be met using the available technology, client budget andprogramme Preparing specifications and contract documentation Calculations to produce estimates of cost and quantity of equipment and the power that the equipment will use Facilitation of stakeholder workshops, value engineering and value management workshops Preparation of tender replies for consultancy workThe successful applicant will be expected to work on their own initiative to develop business, manage projects and theoffice requirements, recognizing and seeking support from more senior consultants when required.Directing reporting will be to the Managing Consultant of the local officeEssential Skills Essential Skills1. Degree (or equivalent) in a transport related discipline2. Engineering Project Management experience3. Listening skills and the ability to communicate ideas to others4. Computer literacy (e.g. excellent MS Office skills,)5. Experience of Contractual issues including negotiation6. Budgetary ExperienceA minimum of one or more of the following areas of experience required:1. Intelligent Transport Systems2. Rail3. Traffic Engineering4. Road Safety Audits5. Traffic Assessments6. Street LightingEssential Attitudes1. Ability to work on own initiative2. Enthusiasm to work in a team environment3. Flexible attitude to project location4. Flexible attitude to responsibilities |
