DescriptionDesign, estimate and provide quotations against customer requirements and be fully conversant in all aspects of processheat applications and control panels. Liaise with agents, clients and potential clients in order to promote service salesand develop five-year business plan to ensure 300% growth within this sector.Report directly to Process Sales Manager and liase with Technical Director/R&D Manager. Oversee work of Design DrawingOffice and liaise with service providers. Liaise with Process Sales Engineers in UK, France and USA; with Systems DesignManager; with Project & Materials Team and Production.Service Sales function is to promote a full after-sales service for customer base which is predominately oil & gas andenergy industries. Provide designs, estimates and quotations in accordance with process philosophy and specificationsprovided by customer. Work in liaison with Process Sales Engineers & Systems Design Engineers. Generate customer interestin service contracts working with customers as necessary to establish requirements and provide solutions in liaison withProcess Sales Engineers, that are economically attractive to customer and profitable to Company. Position will involvetravelling to sites (both on and off-shore) for commissioning, fault diagnosis/trouble-shooting - approximately 100 daysper year.AccountabilitiesTo be fully conversant with heating and control systems in order to provide competent site service on global basisGenerate a level of business that ensures minimum 80-100 site days per annumDesign and promote service contracts to installed baseCo-ordinate manpower resources for provision of serviceTo extend service business by developing a team internally, providing training, and utilising/recruiting sub-contractorsKey performance indicators:1. Service Sales are on target to grow 300% by 20102. Profitability is within range 3555% (average min 40%)3. On Time Performance levels are in excess of 85%AuthorityService Sales Manager has authority to:Provide services within agreed thresholds of gross profitabilitySelect products and suppliers which meet requirements of agreed specifications with Technical Director and MaterialsManagerCheck and approve detailed drawings and changes to drawings for submittal and re-submittal to customersSkills RequiredHND/HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic EngineeringFive years industrial experienceSpecific fields of expertise: Design of electrical control systems for process heat applications utilising low voltageswitchgear, silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) drives etcHazardous area legislation for Europe & knowledge of global requirementsFamiliarity with oil & gas sector advantageousExcellent communication skills and proven customer service/sales record. A second language could be advantageousGood knowledge of MS Office applications and experience of AutoCad, familiarity with mainframe databases advantageousSuccessful completion of a Basic Offshore Safety Induction Course and medical will be required |
