Below are links to sample vacancies taken from real jobs we have shown in London. They are designed to help job seekers and employment researchers get a feel of the types of educational vacancies there have been in the Capital, or within the M25 area and greater London. Teaching in London is a great opportunity for NQTs and qualified teachers. The exciting lifestyle makes the capital competitive. In London there are 33 London Boroughs with over 1,700 primary schools, around 400 secondary schools and 160 special schools. Recent examples of educational opportunities have been from a Physical Education Teaching job in Merton to an English Teaching Vacancy in Enfield. There were several special Needs and Physical Education teaching positions in Greater London or there was a school in Enfield looking to appoint a qualified teacher of English to work across key stage 3 and 4. Also advertised was a Year 4 Primary Teaching job in Croydon and a Key Stage 2 teacher in Harrow. Supply Teaching jobs are plentiful throughout the year with recently advertised positions in Wandsworth, Croydon, Hammersmith and Islington or across South West London. Likewise, Teaching Assistant Primary are regularly shown for places like Hounslow, Bromley, Brent, Bexley or Hendon. One vacancy was from a Primary School in the Kensington and Chelsea area of London who was looking for a full time Teaching Assistant for Summer Term. The successful candidate could work on Long Term Supply for a Term, with the possibility of a long term contract as ateaching assistant. Special Needs Teacher jobs were found in Brent, Croydon, Merton and Chelsea. A SENCO was required for a school in Brent starting in April along with other special needs vacancies in London. Physics Teaching job in Bromley Kent was available on a full time basis along with a Science Teaching job in Bexley which was Part Time. The ideal candidate needed QTS. In North London there were various Teaching Assistant jobs to support a Year 4 class teacher or year 2 and 3. A large primary school in Hounslow were recruiting for an experienced EBD Teaching Assistant and a school in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham were looking for a Level 3 Nursery Nurse. A Special Needs school in the London borough of Lambeth were looking to recruit for a Special Needs Tuition Assistant to join their supportive team and work with pupils aged 5- 11 years old. Also a newly built Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Lambeth was looking to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to join its growing team. A large SEN school in Lambeth wanted experienced Teaching Assistants to work in their school teaching primary aged students with Autism. A thriving 3 form entry school in Hillingdon were looking for a higher level teaching assistant or teaching assistant with suitable experience to work throughout the school to provide PPA cover 5 afternoons a week whilst a Special Needs school in Lewisham was looking for a Special Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to start a long term position as soon as possible. Supply Teaching in Westminster, Croydon, City of London and in Merton was all sought during 2010/11. Other employment opportunities in Education included school caretaker jobs, Key Stage One teacher, Music teacher, PE and Head Teacher vacancies. Supply teachers and Teaching assistant jobs were probably the most common advertised positions in London. There are often opportunities for school admin staff, school cooks and cleaning staff in both colleges, universities and schools. Also we have advertised in the past drama teaching jobs, science teacher, pe and art teaching through to design technology, geography and german teaching vacancies. School assistant and supply teacher jobs were shown for Havering, Hillingdon, Brent, Hounslow, Sutton, Islington and in Wandsworth. Employment opportunities were posted for Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Kingston, Lambeth and working in Sutton or Lewisham. Education careers were offered last year in Merton, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Brent, Richmond and teaching careers in Southwark.
