This is working for a major rail company. To organise and control planned maintenance and installation, and manages allincidents, relating to railway signalling. Responsible for the organisation, management and control of all othersignalling employees. Decisions made by the Signals Operations Manager have a direct bearing on the safe and efficientworking of the railway. Accountable for the integrity and safe operation of the signalling system. Directs and controlsmaintenance and installation, and manages incidents, with a minimum of supervision. Management of other skilled signalsstaff, ensuring their efficiency and safety. Responsibility for management of the signal assets. Promotion of acustomer-oriented service, involving the attainment of performance targets. Required skills & experience: Fully licensedin skills for working in safety critical track environments. At least two years holding a position of Technical Officeror higher within the Signals field. A comprehensive knowledge of railway signalling, including the understanding ofcomplex electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems. A full clean drivers licence. Physically fit. Minimum GSCE grade Cin Mathematics and English, or equivalent. It is desirable to hold a recognised signalling qualification or a supervisoryor management qualification. |
