Our client is one of the UKs largest food companies and supplies high quality, high value, private label chilled food toa prestigious multiple retailer. This individual site has a sales turnover of circa GBP 57m and employees 775 staff, with 65SKUs.The RoleTo assume full responsibility for the business financial performance (P&L and balance sheet/cash flow) provide, and thendeliver, agreed financial targets. By the quality of their knowledge and insight into their business and their marketsdeliver both sustainable profitable growth above the market average and year on year increases in %age EBIT thereby overdelivering against agreed financial targets.The Requirements Graduate with a highly successful and proven manufacturing/operational track record Results driven, change oriented & decisive Tenacious, wont accept the first answer. Will always stretch themselves and others to outperform. Very can-do. Believes in working with people to make a step change in business performance, however, will balance the important needto develop and support management against a need to not accept mediocrity. Strong team player. Will overtly own the business issues and their resolution. Is not defensive or arrogant. Will be challenging to their subordinates, peer group and boss. Will be energetic, their energy and enthusiasm will be felt by the management team, shop floor and customers. First class people manager, not soft. They will be crystal clear on their standards and will insist they are adheredto. Clearly a leader of people. They will lead from the front and by clear example. Will be dynamic and action orientated, not easily deflected from their purpose, but mindful of the wider business andcustomer needs. Is passionate about outstanding customer care. Understands all key stakeholders and sets leading standards in theprofessionalism of the service provided. Believes in balancing the management aspects of the job with leading by example. They are passionate about innovation in driving competitive advantage.Accountabilities Deliver, as a minimum, agreed financial and non financial targets. Work on strategy to personally drive business improvement programmes in delivering year on year reductions in theexpense cost base and ensuring there is a real and delivered set of cost reduction plans to offset an annual 2%age pointreduction in standard margin. This is a personal key business driver. Customers see the business as being in a technically safe pair of hands. There is a living technical strategy alignedto the business strategy. Customers will quote the business in terms of the very highest technical integrity. Whilst not directly accountable for the commercial activity, must be commercially adept. Personally ensure the management team is not only of the right quality and reflects the Companys values, but also isbalanced against each other and the Site Director. Has a thorough understanding of manufacturing. Has a living manufacturing strategy that is aligned to the businessstrategy. Ensures capacity and technical requirements are laid down inline or ahead of demand. The customer hasconfidence in the ability of the Site Director to deliver against commitments made. Will have a detailed understanding of the business performance compared not only to forecast, but also to the economicand competitive environment. Will deliver clear detailed action plans to address gaps or take opportunities. Will ensureappropriate management information is used to run the business and that an effective meeting/review process is in place.Will seek out best practice in all areas of functional reporting to drive a continual improvement in performance. Will have a detailed understanding of their markets in terms of identifying underlying trends, retail activity outsideof their customer base and competitor activity. The level of knowledge will drive an ability to intuitively predictbusiness threats and opportunities. The Site Director will ensure the appropriate actions are in place to avert thethreats or take the opportunities. Will be mindful of the wider Group and actively seek to exploit group synergy to help deliver enhanced performance. To deliver improvement in H&S that demonstrates 'Most Improved Site Performance' across the Group and to ensure cultureis developed to drive H&S standards within the business.
