Our client is a dynamic and fast growing renewable biomass energy company set up over five years ago. They are lookingfor a bright and ambitious technician to work within their Installation Team to undertake boiler and pipeworkinstallation, commissioning and provide ongoing post-commissioning support to woodfuelled heating installations andassociated works typically ranging in size from approximately 100 kW to 3,000 kW. Training by leading experts in thefield will be provided.Key tasks will include:" Planning wood boiler plant installation, including procurement of materials and subcontracted services." Preparation of suitable method statements and risk assessments (to standard templates) for plant installation works." Wood boiler and associated mechanical plant installation and assembly (fuel handling systems, chimneys etc)." Pipe fitting installation and assembly, steel and copper.Skills and experience" Strong mechanical plant installation and assembly experience with relevant qualifications." Proven technical understanding of heating system mechanical services." At least three year's experience in a construction / mechanical services contracting environment or equivalent.Demonstrable ability to:" Read and understand plant layout drawings" Basic understanding of heating installation schematics" Ideally use of a CAD package to read and edit drawings and create basic sketches as required." Good interpersonal and communication skills." Strong team-worker." Presentable appearance and good manner with clients." Excellent organisational skills and record keeping." Ability to work and make good / logical decisions under pressure." Willingness to travel and stay away as required to discharge commitments for the majority of the time." Self motivated." Enthusiastic about environmental issues and renewable energy." Current UK driving licence.Terms" This post is salaried at GBP 23,000 pa and you will be expected to work a 39 hour week." The job will be based at their Bedfordshire workshop but will entail regular travel within the UK and work on site atclients' premises, including overnight stays." You will receive 20 days basic holiday entitlement per year, plus public holidays."
