Description:

This Company has built a reputation for the development and supply of the highest specification FPGA-based IP cores, andcomplex system-on-chip designs. These designs are supplied either as IP, or are supplied, installed and tested ascomplete systems on COTS or in-house designed hardware.They also has expertise at the system level, and consequently often provides an initial design consultancy service thataddresses the overall system requirements, and so defines the optimum FPGA signal processing design algorithmsappropriate to the customers' application.The Company is continuing to grow steadily, and now require another innovative systems engineer to join our existing teamof highly qualified engineers. You will have responsibility for high-level architecture design of digital front-endprocessing for FPGA, and you will be familiar with some or all of: Polyphase FIR filters, FFTs, down converters,channelisers, FPGAs, Flash, SRAM, SDRAM, digital pulse compression, beam forming, base band filtering, receiverequalisation, latency issues, fixed and floating point issues, and modelling.The position will have a leading role, reporting to the Engineering Manager, and will have responsibility for specifiedcustomer projects as well as contributing to other parallel customer projects. Another key part of the role is to supportthe Technical Sales team in evaluating and preparing customer proposals. You will be targeting the latest programmablehardware devices, for applications in the three main market areas of communications, defence and test instrumentation,however there are other diverse market applications that can arise.They are looking for people who are highly motivated, have a very positive approach to problem solving, and who are ableto work well as part of a team of like-minded people. You are likely to be a graduate with over five years experience inone or more of the following areas: DSP design, software defined radio design, GSM/UMTS, xDSL, WLAN, satellitecommunications, image processing, test instrumentation, EW, SIGINT or radar systems design.You will also have experience in some or all of the following areas: use of Matlab, C/C++, DSP, Xilinx/Altera FPGAs,VHDL, Leonardo Spectrum/ModelSim design tools. Experience in embedded design in the Comms, Defence or Instrumentationindustry will clearly be an advantage.This new position offers a challenging opportunity for the right person in this young and expanding company. There willbe an opportunity for occasional international travel.
