GBP 25,000 to GBP 35,000 per year

Description:

As a professional software developer, ideally with 2 or more years experience, you will be working within the SoftwareDevelopment Team in Cambridge.Working with other developers as well as test and technical publications and other teams, you will help to specify,design, and implement the next-generation of Company technologies and customer solutions. This will include new featuresfor existing products, such as the Company Presentation server, as well as integration with 3rd party technologies (e.g.authentication systems).As a developer, you will work with the Team Lead, Product Architect and other team members to specify and develop newfeatures. You will be expected to take features from conception (requirements analysis and functional specification)through to release.In addition this role may involve some time working on third level product support and maintenance issues and providingtechnical advice to the Company support organization, customers, and partners.Specific Job Requirements: Analysis of requirements Writing Functional Specifications Writing Design Specifications Implementation/Coding Unit Test Specification and Testing Adhering to Engineering formal/informal processes Ability to work in a teamEssential Computer Science degree or similar (ideally 2.1 or better) 2 or more years of commercial software development experience in C/C++ programming for the Windows Win32 API. Demonstrable working knowledge of either the Java/C# programming languages. Object Oriented Design and ProgrammingPreferredKnowledge and/or experience in some of the following are preferred: Microsoft Windows 2000 and 2003 Knowledge of Windows Terminal Services Working knowledge of Internet technologies (Web Servers, routers, firewalls, TCP/IP sockets, HTTP) MFC/ATL .NET WinForms MSI Installer COM, COM+, DCOM, ActiveX
