Role Definition:You will take responsibility for leading teams (of 3 7) in all aspects of PC based software engineering projects,ensuring they are delivered on time and of adequate quality.Duties:1.) Full life cycle responsibility2.) To be involved in the specification, planning and estimating of design and development tenders.3.) To identify and monitor resource and skill requirements for projects.4.) To report on project spend, milestones and timescales for a complete project.5.) To identify, monitor and control project related risks and quality issues.6.) To design, code, integrate, test and maintain central software for company products.7.) You will be required to chair cross-functional meetings with your team.8.) You will be required to make formal presentations to customers, peers and engineering managers.Skills/Experience Required:1.) 5 10 years software engineering experience, 3 or more in a supervisory/lead role:2.) Degree in a relevant subject3.) C++, C# and java with the flexibility to move between the three.4.) Development in a Microsoft environment5.) Experience of developing java applications (2 years +) and j2ee frameworks6.) Design Methodologies: Object oriented, preferably using UML7.) Operating Systems knowledge: OpenVMS, Microsoft windows from 95 onwards8.) Platform knowledge: VAX, Alpha, PC9.) Beneficial skills: SQL Server, ClearCase, MS Project. |
