Description:

The scope of the role is to be a key member of the project team on a project to introduce an EMC storage area network,back up service and archiving solution. The project is to implement the following: EMC SAN solution. Email and document archiving solution. New corporate backup solution using Legato and a Clarion Disk Library. Deployment of VMWARE virtual servertechnology. Migrate and consolidate critical services to the SAN environment including file servers, SQL databases andother critical applications. Re-engineer current business processes in line with the implementation of the newtechnology. Assess the business benefits from implementing the new technology.Experience:Experience of working on large scale SAN implementations. Experience of working with Cisco products & technologies.Experience of working within a Data Centre environment, 200+ servers and 6000 users. Experience of multi server/desktopenvironments. Good technical knowledge of servers, pc's, networking equipment, operating systems and softwareapplications. Good customer facing skills. Ability to produce meaningful documentation to both customer and technicalcolleagues. Enthusiastic and self motivated. Clean Driving Licence. Experience of local government environment useful.
