Specific areas of Responsibility To have a grasp of basic engineering/electronics so as to assist the product development team identify and sourcecomponents and equipment. Setting up & management of subcontracts. To prepare/assist in the preparation of SOWs for supplier services or equipment. To include appropriate terms andconditions. To ensure orders for development product/services are ordered and executed in a timely manner. Actively work together with our Engineering/ Programmes teams & our strategic Suppliers to reduce costs, improvedesigns, remove risks and reduce product lead times. Work with the product development team to provide intelligent purchasing support to product designs and be influentialin the make/ buy decision process. To prepare estimates of the materials content of Bills of Materials/parts lists for products under development. To keepthe models fully updated. To fully understand the need dates of the product development programme plan for services or manufactured product, andto expedite such services to achieve need dates. To liaise with manufacturing in the execution of build of development product so as to meet development timescales. To participate in the project planning process so as to ensure that the plan accurately reflects the timescales andactivities necessary to obtain hardware and services as required.
