SYSTEM SAFETY EXPERT REQUIRED FOR DEFENCE GIANTOur client requires a System Safety Expert to advise, influence and manage system safety processes tailored to requirements defined under national and multinational contracts, generate/maintain links across the organisation to ensure such assessments can be made and support the Group Head in development and recruitment of technically competent staff. Closely interface with hazard analysis/reliability experts to ensure tools/techniques remain appropriate in the support of system level safety assessments. You will have detailed understanding in most of these areas and at least a working knowledge in each: System safety engineering specified by standards such as IEC61508, UK DEF-STAN-00-55, US MIL STD 882; Systems Safety Knowledge including requirement specification, system definition, requirement flowdown, system and sub-system interactions and application across the complete process lifecycle; Safety of Explosives, Ordnance Board Process and Regulation; Applying safety processes in multi-national environments and across different standards; Customer Safety Process (JSPs for UK MoD and interface between customer / contractor safety responsibilities); Work with Product Safety and multinational department heads to maintain company safety process and establishment of best practice; Working/management of an effective safety management system including management of Safety Panels and Safety Committees with customer.
