Description:

POSITION SUMMARYWe are currently looking for a Systems Administrator/Engineer to join our rapidly growing EU Engineering team. Workingwith 3 other Systems Administrators you will be responsible for helping to architect, evaluate, administer andtroubleshoot the BlackBerry Internet Solution infrastructure.This exciting role would see around 60% of your day based on systems administration and 3rd line support with theremainder working within a team to determine future plans for the BIS infrastructure. The successful candidate will beresponsible for implementing scalable, fault-tolerant solutions, along with documenting them for hand-over and trainingto our 24x7 carrier support team. The EU Engineering team are required to work closely with the BB Engineering team inWaterloo, Canada and our Software Developers.You will have a sound background in Systems Administration/Engineering, preferably with 5-7 years from the Telecomms orIT industry working with a large e-mail management system. You will be looking to join a dynamic team where you canprogress, develop and be at the forefront of new technology.ESSENTIAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONSStrong Unix (Linux, Solaris) administration experience.Familiarity with storage and e-mail appliance systems (NetApp, Mirapoint, Ironport) with an excellent understanding ofsendmail, postfix and other e-mail systems.Some TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, POP, IMAP, SSH, HTTP(S) protocols preferable.Experience with database systems (Oracle, Sybase and PostgreSQL+Slony-I) an asset.Degree in Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering is preferred.A committed team player who demonstrates a calm demeanour and excellent interpersonal skills.A self starter with strong problem solving skills and a proven ability to show use of initiative.Flexibility with working hours to cover different time zones as the business requires.Eligibility to work in the EU
