Job Title: Systems Applications EngineerReports to: Technical Services Manager.Job Role: To prepare technical proposals and design specifications for electrical/electronic call systems and multi-mediasystems. To assist consultants and contractors with any technical information required regarding these systems.Main Job Functions: Prepare technical proposals for quotations, including design of systems and special units. To provide technical information and deal with any queries from consultants and/or contractors via fax, email and faceto face meetings Prepare information for wiring diagrams including network design where required. Check and approve wiring diagrams. Advise shop floor and inspection on technical queries when or if required. Give advice to drawing office if required. Visit sites and customers if problems arise which cannot be dealt with by telephone. Compile maintenance manuals and spares lists for call systems. Follow large contracts from initial enquiry to final commissioning and handover. Liaise with Sales representatives on any Technical matters. Inspect and test specials when required.Candidates should hold the following skills/knowledge: Minimum of HNC or equivalent in an appropriate Electrical/Electronic discipline Knowledge of Digital communication Knowledge of Electronic & Electrical switching circuits Knowledge of Data and Structured cabling circuits Knowledge of wireless systems Good communication skills Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings IT literacy MS Office The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work loads and meet deadlines.26 days holiday, sick pay, pension and private health care are also available with this position |
