In addition, the Systems Manager is responsible for ensuring business continuity through maintaining a highly robustinternal network of servers and workstations as well as providing appropriate disaster recovery solutions.The salary is GBP 20,000 to GBP 28,000 depending on ability and experience.Responsible for:The safe and efficient running of TechnoPhobia's technology systems, both within their web hosting environment and theirSheffield and satellite offices. Maintenance of IT systems documentation and service records. Provision, management,maintenance, configuration and security of TechnoPhobia and TechnoPhobia Hosting IT systems and networks.Ensuring the integrity, security and backup of TechnoPhobia and client data. Ensuring the correct handling of clientsupport requests and uploads.Provision of technical support for internal computer systems. Maintenance of the relevant (IT usage and security)sections of the company's staff handbook. Liaising with accounts staff regarding hosting solutions and proposals.Extensive experience of maintaining:Sun Solaris 8 and above.Linux (desktop and server).Windows Server (2000, 2003).Windows desktop (2000 & XP pro).Duties:Line Management of System Administrators/Hosting EngineersPerform regular checks of system and data securityEnsure the smooth running of IT systemsWork with accounts staff to specify, build and deliver high quality hosting solutionsEnsure systems are kept up to date with security patchesEnsure adequate procedures and reporting is in place to safeguard the smooth running of the hosting services and internalIT services.smooth running of the hosting services and internal IT services.Skills:Good communication skills.People management experience.Commercial awareness.Good 'client' facing skills.Understanding of Web and other applications eg:Apache 1.3.x.Apache 2.Tomcat.MySQL/PostGres.Firewall configuration:IPchains/tables.Netscreen.Cisco.IPSec/VPN.Characteristics:Diligent - great attention to detailGood risk assessment skillsTidy and orderly mindMethodicalSelf motivatedOur Benefits package is20 days holidayOption to join the Pension Scheme after 3 months.
