Technical Designer/Design/SQl/Oracle/GUI/CASEMy clients is Europe's only truly specialised supplier of consumer finance software and lending system solutions andsoftware to the Financial Services industry.They are looking for somone to join to ensure the design of my clients product meets the functional and performanceneeds of the customer whilst achieving the maximum effectiveness and efficiency of product design and development.MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:To ensure the design of my clients product meets the functional and performance needs of the customer whilst achievingthe maximum effectiveness and efficiency of product design and development.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To provide assistance to the sales process through acting in an advisory capacity to the sales team in responses tocustomer queries. To produce initial designs and estimates as part of the project initiation phase for each customer to ensure that thescope of product design changes are accurate, at least at a high level. To establish and document detailed user requirements, through analysis of the high level business requirementsdefinitions produced by consultants and through detailed discussions with customer personnel (e.g. via workshops andcustomer meetings). To write Functional Impact Documents which specify the impact of a requirement across functions and data. To write Design Documentation, in terms of the functional use cases, the object model and the data model, to meet thedefined detailed user requirements. To review Design Documentation produced by other members of the Design team, as part of the formal peer review process. To produce object models, and map these onto the data model To review Detailed Designs produced by the Development teams to ensure the functionality specified in High LevelDesigns is represented accurately and completely in the Detailed Level Designs. To produce integration test plans and to conduct integration testing against these plans, including validatingdeveloped functionality against Design Documentation.Knowledge: Proven experience of business analysis and application design (essential) Sound RDBMS experience (particularly SQL/Oracle experience) preferably in the development environment (essential) Knowledge of the finance/lending industry (highly desirable) GUI/Client Server/CASE experience (highly desirable) Knowledge of OO concepts and techniques (highly desirable) Experience of website design (highly desirable)Skills:Good written and oral communication skills (preferably combined with sound presentation and negotiation skills), Soundnumeracy and analytical skills, High level of attention to detail, Good customer handling skills.The salary band for this role is GBP 30,000 and GBP 45,000 depending on experience.
