Job DescriptionAs a Technical Trainer you will deliver AIRCOM's training portfolio to our customers who include the world's leadingOperators and Vendors. A great deal of short stay international travel will be required whilst you deliver technical andsoftware training to our clients around the world.This is a challenging role that will demand someone who is able to develop and deliver a variety of courses across a widespectrum of technologies (ATM, GPRS, UMTS, etc). Familiarity with vendors equipment, radio access or core network is amust. Knowledge and command or more than one language is highly desirable.After you have found your feet within the company you will be expected to put your training and engineering expertise togood use in the development of new, and tailored, courses to meet the changing needs of our customers. Withtelecommunications industry experience you will be well aware of the pressures our clients are under to deliver theirrespective technologies to their own customers. This awareness, combined with your abilities in identifying the criticalprocesses behind any task, will enable you to rapidly produce new value enhancing training courses for our customers.With a proven record in training we would, of course, expect your written and verbal communication to be outstanding.With the Training Coordinator you will project manage each new training session to ensure that the training solution thatyou deliver meets the training needs of the customer within a fast moving environment. As such, you should be able toquickly prioritise tasks and be a capable manager of your own time. Just as in the classroom, you will need to be able tothink quickly on your feet.Finally, and most importantly, you will get a buzz from training. At the end of each training project you will leave thecustomer knowing that their engineers are better able to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively.Responsibilities1. Develop training courses in topic areas as agreed from time to time with the departmental manager (note: a coursenormally consists of a manual that is ready to print in pdf form and a PowerPoint presentation).2. Assume full responsibility for the accuracy, appearance and currency of these courses.3. Deliver courses in topic areas as agreed with the departmental manager or, in case of absence, his/her deputy.4. Ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained by, among others: preparing for the course in an appropriate manner;valuing customer input to a particular booking; making every reasonable effort to ensure that, where necessary, thetraining environment is appropriate for the task in hand; presenting himself/herself punctually in a fit condition forwork at any reasonable location of the customers choosing.5. Travel internationally in accordance with Foreign and Commonwealth office advice.6. Additional duties as may be reasonably requested from time to time by the departmental manager.Capabilities1. Must have Hands On experience in Mobile Networks, Access or Core for at least 3 years.2. Must enjoy engineering and training challenges in order to meet our customers' project requirements.3. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels and in more than one language.4. Must possess and be able to demonstrate a 'can do' attitude in adversity.5. Would ideally hold an honours degree related to his expertise area.6. Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of process orientated training to order to achieve Training Objectives.7. Would ideally be able to demonstrate experience in formal teaching.8. Must be able to write clearly and efficiently in order to produce objective orientated training manuals.9. Must be able to travel in accordance with Foreign and Commonwealth Office advice in order to deliver training toAIRCOM customers, at short notice. |
