: Ideally with a degree or IEng (or working towards it) and experience of contract preparation and tender procedures. Primary Duties Preparation of feasibility and preliminary highway designs using manual and computer techniques, in accordance with relevant design codes of practice, standards and advice notes. Preparation of project programmes and fee estimates. Preparation of sound and innovative technical and practical solutions. Preparation of reports and scheme cost estimates. Consultations including meetings with third parties and clients. Supervision and checking of the work of junior staff including the professional development of those staff. When required, to deputise for the Project Manager. To undertake the roles of Designer, Checker or Approver as defined in the Quality Manual and the competency appraisal processes. Qualifications BSc or HNC in Civil Engineering or related subject Corporate Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Incorporated Engineer (or similar professional qualification). Experience Minimum 3 years relevant post-qualification experience in the feasibility and preliminary design of Traffic Engineering schemes (Traffic calming, safety schemes, junction improvements, cycleway schemes, and local highway improvements). IT Skills Computer literate and thoroughly conversant with MS Office suite. Experience of project programming using MS Project. Experience in ARCADY, PICADY and OSCADY.
