Our Client is a highly regarded, successful and growing third party logistics provider, who has been operatingsuccessfully for more than 60 years. Today the company heads up an advanced distribution logistics service, coveringevery aspect of a first class warehousing, transport and administration operation. Offered individually or as part of anintegrated package, the core services include transport, warehousing and logistics services.As Traffic Planner you will be responsible for planning the day-to-day operation of a fleet of artics, rigids & 7.5 tonnevehicles nationally (approximately 40 vehicles), acting on behalf of a building products business group.You will be responsible for routing vehicles efficiently and cost effectively and will supervise all despatching andshunt operations. In addition, You will manage subcontracting of customer despatches, ensure all vehicles are servicedand maintained in line with Ministry requirements and ensure all drivers comply with tachograph and drivers hoursregulations.You will communicate fully with customers, drivers and management and provide advice and support to ensure anycomplaints/queries are resolved fully and promptly.Service levels to customers are to be monitored and action taken to improve customer service.The Traffic Planner will also provide regular status reports on activities and projects and collect data for internal andexternal monitoring requirements, maintain efficient, up to date and organised office systems and work in line withtargets set for operational and financial key performance indicators.Skills:The successful candidate will be accustomed to working in a FMCG environment and have supervisory and administrativeexperience and preferably be a CPC holder.You will also have experience of legal and regulatory compliance and should be familiar with Health & Safety and ITSystems.Finally you should be familiar with Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications and have excellent communicationskillsNote:To be employed in the United Kingdom you need to have all proper documentation which allows you the legal right to workin the UK.
