Our Client is a leading retailer who intends to establish a new home delivery operation based at a site in Surrey. Itsdelivery area will be anywhere within the M25.They are currently seeking a Transport Manager for this new operation.The role will be challenging and involves the day to day responsibility of the transport function. With the support of ateam of Transport Section Managers, the successful candidate will manage a large team of drivers and support staffensuring that the right products reach their customers within the specified delivery window.Key responsibilities will be :Manage all transport within the site including vehicle maintenanceManage scheduling system to maximize delivery efficiencyEnsure highest standards of customer serviceManage large team of drivers to ensure full legal and security complianceIn addition you will be expected to develop and implement initiatives to continuously improve operational performance andservice standards and you will ensure the sites transport operations processes are managed within our Clients Health andSafety, Legal and Security policy framework.Skills:Our client is looking for an experienced and ambitious Transport Manager who can cope with an extremely fast pacedenvironment. Ideally of graduate calibre with excellent leadership and communication skills, coupled with highlydeveloped influencing skills and a customer focused approach.Candidates must have substantial transport management experience ideally gained within a home delivery multi-dropenvironment. A CPC is essential and the ability to plan and organise effectively is of paramount importance.Knowledge of health and safety legislation and experience of implementing H & S measures is also a key requirement.Finally you need to be positive, friendly and approachable with a passion to succeed and the willingness to do whateverit takes!The salary is likely to be within the range of GBP 35-42k.
