RoleThe candidate needs to be familiar with the operation of a traffic engineering and transportation planning office dealing with a wide range of development projects both in the public and private development sectors. The work involves the preparation of highway, parking, servicing and access schemes, giving advice to Clients on traffic and highway issues and policy, preparation and checking of Transport Assessments and Travel Plans for a range of different Land Uses. Experience of using and understanding some standard junction analysis programs and of Highway design would be helpful, and familiarity with the needs of cyclists, pedestrians and the users of Public Transport will be important. Responsibilities will include the financial control of projects, the development of the traffic business in the south west region in particular and further afield in liaison with other offices in the East and South of England and South Wales. fully supports career development and the successful candidate would be expected to train others as a key part of their duties. Wider experience in delivery of Public Transport schemes, Public Inquiry evidence, traffic modelling, signal design or other similar specialisms would be an advantage. Key CompetenciesSkills:Good working knowledge of a busy traffic section. Ability to drive forward expansion of the business in the South West Region. Current Driving Licence.Qualifications:Chartered Engineer or Transportation Planner.Corporate membership of appropriate qualifying bodyExperience:6 Years plus since graduation Personal Qualities:Outgoing, presentable, team worker. |
