Hertfordshire based for this major Defence electronics company who are part of a FTSE 100 organisationGeneral Scope & Responsibility This is a high profile role reporting to the Managing Director with full responsibility for all communication withthe UK MOD. Primary responsibility will be the commercial management of all UK MOD sales. These sales will be large, complex,multi-year supply, often requiring long term development. To understand the future direction and strategy of the MOD, to optimise opportunities for future sales. To manage key MOD relationships to achieve closer alignment with their organisational structure and to ensure thebusiness is meeting customers expectations. To champion new product proposals working closely with Programmes, R & D, and the regional sales organisation. To achieve the forecast sales budget (full potential plan).Personal specification Proven experience in selling within a disciplined sales environment Full and extensive dealings with UK MOD at a Senior Level Background senior rank in armed forces Degree or HNC qualified in engineering, marketing or similar Strong programme or project management skills Strong sales negotiation skills A well-developed ability to manage target customer relationships over an extended period of time Experience and knowledge which will ensure customer capability requirements are set around current and futurecapabilities Customer sensitivity and ability to progressively market to a wide range of customers Ability to maintain contact/relationships with the decision makers who may be customers, end users in the field orprocurement managers Preference for experience of or exposure to NBC equipment |
