It operates one of Europes largest distribution operations.As a fast growing GBP 37 billion global business at the forefront of its industry, it has never been afraid to set ambitiousand challenging goals and understands that only exceptional people will ensure such goals become a reality.Our Clients distribution centres are intensive 24 hour 7 days per week operations, combining leading edge technology anda challenging agenda to ensure continuous improvement to deliver excellent service to its stores.To enable our Clients national distribution centre staff to give our Client their best they need an additional WarehouseShift Manager at their Distribution Centre in Essex, willing to lead by example.Reporting into the DC Operations Manager, you will be responsible for a team of Warehouse Team Managers for ensuring thatthe right products reach the shelves on time, every time. Aided by stateoftheart technology & latest industry methods,you will play a vital part in the distribution centre operation in the achievement of balanced targets in the areas ofpeople, operations, customers & finance. You will be responsible for managing the performance, training, health andsafety and motivation of your team. You will manage change and also coach Team Managers to get the best out of theirpeople.You will monitor KPIs and be expected to write reports accordingly & assist with the preparation of departmental budgetsand forecasts, review operational performance daily and weekly identifying successes and areas for improvement, leadcontinuous improvement initiatives and attend management meetings. In addition you will ensure the processes are managedwithin our Clients Health and Safety, Legal and Security policy framework.Skills:You will need to demonstrate the ability to translate our Clients vision into how you and your team operate daily, aswell as a hands on approach to succeed in a demanding environment.This is a key management role leading a team of Warehouse Team Managers and warehouse staff and championing excellence,which requires at least five years management experience, ideally, though not essentially within a distribution or retailenvironment.You will be an effective manager of staff with a modern approach to management and proven in your ability to motivate anddevelop Team Managers and their reports. You will set clear expectations for staff and review achievements accordingly,providing structured and objective feedback.As an experienced leader of people you will have the proactive ability to challenge existing practices and drive throughchange to benefit the business.You will be a real people person, a clear communicator with experience of managing change effectively.
