Warehouse Supervisor - ManchesterMy client who are a market leading electrical wholesaler are currently looking for a Warehouse Supervisor for theirManchester branch. The successful candidate will be able to achieve company goals by managing the warehouse, distributionand transport functions in order to maximise profits. Deputises for Centre Manager when required and responsible forWarehouse Assistants and Delivery Drivers.Your essential duties and responsibilities will be as follows:- Managing, motivating and organising all warehouse staff in order to contribute to the achievement of the centre sales,margin and profit targets- Ensuring all warehouse staff and drivers comply with policies, procedures and legislation relevant to their positionsand providing first line discipline where required- Regularly reviewing the warehouse layout to ensure optimum use of space whilst ensuring the warehouse stays clean andtidy at all times- Maintaining high levels of security in all areas of the warehouse and limiting access of security cage to designatedpersonnel only.- Maintaining high standards of customer service by ensuring all goods are picked and packed correctly, deliveries areachieved within the required timescales and communicating any issues that arise from an order, to the sales team- Ensuring all internal stock transfers are processed to KPI standard and discrepancies logged, notified and correctedaccordingly- Ensuring all external deliveries are booked in using the Goods In Diary and that no deliveries are signed for withoutprior cross-reference to the purchase order number- Ensuring all collections are actioned to company standards and damaged/faulty goods are processed in compliance withmanufacturer returns policies- Conducting regular stock checks in accordance with company standards and take corrective action where necessary- Ensuring all warehouse equipment is checked regularly and maintained to the required standard with daily checkscompleted on all forklifts- Ensuring vehicles are checked and maintained as required by company policies or statutory legislation and deliveryroutes are reviewed regularly to maintain maximum efficiency- Ensuring vehicles are loaded correctly and ready to leave the premises by 8.30am- Ensuring all warehouse, distribution and transport administration is completed in line with current policies andprocedures- Attending regular meetings with management team to review manpower, performance and operational issues- Ensuring management team are kept informed, daily, of any issues that may impact on customer service- Facilitating regular meetings with the warehouse team to communicate current performance, changes in policy/procedureand discuss operational issues- Providing support, guidance and coaching to individuals to ensure they reach their full potential by identifying andmonitoring training needs. Where applicable providing suitable training and development- Providing support to Centre Manager in implementing the annual stock take and ensuring all warehouse staff and driversare aware and available- Complying with all Health & Safety and security policies that relate to being a key holder and attending alarm callouts when required- Carrying out any other reasonable tasks or duties at the discretion of the managementYou will be offered a basic salary of GBP 16K - 21K + 12K bonus + other benefits. |
