The role consists of 37 hours (working) per week (8am until 4:30pm from Weekdays), with less than 24 hours (working) of teaching per week. They have a focus on Alternative Provision teaching for disadvantaged individuals, and you would be charged with teaching History and Geography to them, ranging from entry level courses through to GCSE. nonetheless, most of the teaching will be done on the lower level courses (entry level 1-3, and level 1), so they would be able to take on a more generalist teacher for this role. The age of the learners will range from 14 to 19, but most of them will be in the 14 to 16 age bracket. There would be a teaching assistant present at all times in the classroom as well, and they also have a dedicated behavioural management team. The beginning salary for this job vacancy offer is between £21, 000 and £30, 000 per year (depending on qualifications and experience), and the package also includes a teacher's pension, and a very generous non-term time holiday allowance in line with other schools.
