There are 3 main types of Electrician Jobs in the UK:

  • Installation electricians test and install wiring systems. These are often for lighting, security, fire, automatic doors and smoke alarms etc.
  • Maintenance electricians test and maintain electrical equipment. They can work in factories or assembly lines. They are usually working in industrial or commercial environments.
  • Production electricians deal with complex electrical appliances from wiring diagrams.

The company supplies high end product into a variety of industries including aerospace , motor sports , automotive. They are a expert foundry and extrusion type business who are part of a larger US owned group. This client has a very low turnover of staff and has an excellent reputation as an employer. Candidates to be suitably experienced having been formally trained and qualified in Electrical Maintenance Engineering together with (industrial) IEE Regs knowledge. Must also be able to work well within a maintenance team environment but equally must be able to work unsupervised and alone using their own initiative. The prospective employer has a strong client base ranging from distributions centres, large industrial premises, hotels and schools. Many of their clients are well known established companies with long term relationships in place. They are looking for a Contracts Manager to take responsibility of between £500k - £1m worth of planned and reactive maintenance contracts throughout the North West. The contracts have a blend of air conditioning, commercial gas and electrical services on site. Your job duties will include being responsible for the smooth running and expansion of these contracts whilst working towards pre-existing SLA's and KPI's. Your job duties will include being responsible for the day to day management of local Supervisors, engineers and associated office based administrators. the employee will be the first point of contact for the clients on site and will report directly to the Directors. the employee will need a good understanding of mechanical services and facilities maintenance as a whole. the employee will be rewarded with a basic between £35 - £43k (depending on experience) with a full benefits package incorporating a car, pension, health etc. Further progression within the company is also a real possibility.
