Our corporate client based in the city of Essex was looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to sit within the UK Finance function.
The role leads the team responsible for controlling and reporting the results of the corporate entities supporting the Group's UK division.

1. The overall purpose of this role was to ensure that the internal and external financial and regulatory reporting of their corporate entities was maintained to their high standards.
2. The role has primary responsibility for ensuring the corporates' internal and external monthly, quarterly and annual reporting was complete, accurate and timely. Many opportunities within the organisation. Result forecasting and expense budgeting are also required in this role, with significant focus on the regulatory environment with Solvency II approaching.

Key points: Our corporate client based in the city of Essex is looking to recruit an Assistant Financial Accountant to sit within the UK Finance function. The overall purpose of this role is to ensure that the internal and external financial and regulatory reporting of their corporate entities is maintained to their high standards. The position sits within a team responsible for corporate reporting, and is one of two direct reports into the Financial Accountant. Key areas of responsibility: ensuring the ledger is fully reconciled and any movements explained with commentary, preparing group reporting template for review by the Financial Accountant, preparing quarterly board papers, preparing FSA regulatory reporting and liaising with compliance department as appropriate, preparing the annual financial statements, leading the annual budgeting process in conjunction with the London team's Planning & Management Information team, reforecasting both expenses and the result on a quarterly basis, and assisting others in the team as required in order to meet deadlines. The finance function has developed significantly in recent years in line with management's aspirations to achieve FTSE 100 status. This is an exciting time to join a growing and highly successful business with a strong brand.
