Key points: My well-established and expanding client based in Bradford, West Yorkshire have a current opening for an experienced and qualified Management Accountant to join them on a Full Time, Permanent basis. In return, the employer is looking to pay an annual salary of circa £35, 000. Job Purpose: • To provide accurate and timely management information, embracing all financial aspects of the business. • Ensuring accurate standard costs are maintained and developed. • Support the business during Budgeting and Planning. Important job duties : Provision of Management Information - Head Office reporting (including P&L, balance sheet, cash, statistics etc.) to a tight monthly schedule preparation of management information packs for monthly presentation to directors and senior managers including multi-dimensional Profit & Loss Reports. Liaise with departmental managers on control of overhead costs and provision of management information. Continually improve the quality and presentation of management information, making use of the latest technology and media available. Foreign Subsidiaries - To liaise with foreign entities in terms of month-end reporting and budgeting, including reconciling Inter Co Balances. To provide and review intercompany pricing, ensuring transfer pricing rules with regard to tax are adhered to. Costing Systems – To understand all manufacturing processes so as to ensure accuracy of costs. Responsible for ensuring all new product codes are allocated a standard cost. Provisional costing of new products. Annual revision of standard costs. Analysing price variances on purchased products and gross margins on manufactures products. Control of labour standards and developing labour reporting. Stock Valuation – Responsible for ensuring book stock valuation represents the system stock valuation. Monthly analysis of stock movements. Control of stock reserves for obsolete/slow moving. Completion of yearly stock-take reconciliations. Decision Making Analysis and Management Support – Regular analyse company results and report on key variancies to management. Provide financial input/analysis for proposed development and launch of new products, developing relationships with Sales & Marketing. Perform detailed investment appraisals to help capital expenditure decisions. Apply management accounting techniques to improve operational efficiency, pricing decisions and cost control. Key involvement in forecasting and budgeting processes. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Preferred: • Part Qualified Accountant CIMA • previous work experience in a manufacturing company • Computer literate with strong spreadsheet skills • AS400 knowledge is also desirable, nonetheless, not required Core Competencies: • Ability to work under own initiative • Ability to achieve tight deadlines • Works well as a team member • Ability to liaise with other department ..........
