SUMMARY:
My client was looking for a Senior Purchasing Category Manager to join their Purchasing team.
This individual will be expected to make a measurable and key contribution to the business through creating the optimal product and quality offer for the customer, negotiating the most favorable supplier terms and conditions and managing supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities for this role include a€


Producing commercial buying strategy for own buying area
Lead the sourcing direction with their colleagues in the brand team
Rigorously drive own suppliers and team suppliers to be looked at on risk assessment basis
Driving due diligence financial reporting, supplier visits etc
Lead direct reports where applicable
the employee will need to show the following skill set for consideration for this job vacancy offer a€



Minimum 5 years food buying and category management experience, preferably in a retail/ foodservice organization
Extensive cross category food buying and supply chain knowledge, preferably in a retail/ food service organization and or specific food and category management knowledge
Solid understanding of food quality, manufacturing processes and costs
Strong focus on customer first and product quality
Strong decision making, judgement, planning and organizing, willingness to take calculated risks to exceed goals
Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data and distill information and present key recommendations.
